The ABC news story included interviews and film shots from three BACL sites -- the Tiburon Lodge in Tiburon, the Chateau Hotel in Napa and the Best Western Lighthouse Hotel in Pacifica.

The crew filmed participants taking courses with some of our finest instructors: Eric Gattman ("Campaign 2000"), John Rothmann ("Great 20th Century Presidents"), Jerry Frohmader ("George Gershwin"), John Stanley ("Raised on Radio") and Kim Caffrey ("Wine Appreciation").

Producer Peter Imber of ABC’s Los Angeles-based West Coast office came to the Bay Area with a film crew. He interviewed hostelers, and filmed the groups in and out of class. Professor Ray Pestrong, while describing the dramatic geology of the West Coast, walked with Elderhostelers along the Pacific Ocean at Rockaway Beach in Pacifica, and wine teacher extraordinaire, Kim Caffrey, led the group through a beautiful Napa Valley vineyard to show how wine grapes grow.

BACL is proud that our organization was the only Elderhostel organization in the country selected to represent Elderhostel on this project.
