CHECK-IN: The front desk will ask for your credit card information upon check-in. Should you use the room phone, you will be presented with a bill upon check-out.
TELEPHONES: Using your cell phone is the least expensive way to make calls while at the hotel. If you wish to use your room phone, there is a speaker-telephone with voicemail. The hotel does not charge a fee for calls made on calling cards or credit cards. Direct dialing on long distance calls is charged at the local phone company rate with an additional surcharge. Personal checks are not accepted. No pay phones are available.
WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS CENTER: Wireless internet access is complimentary throughout the hotel. The hotel has a complimentary business center available to guests.
HOUSING: There are a limited number of rooms on the ground floor. Most rooms are on the second or third floors. All rooms are near an elevator. Rooms come with a bed choice of either one king-sized bed or two queen-sized beds. Bed choice is subject to availability. There are a limited number of rooms with two beds; most rooms have king beds. Each room has the following: DVD player, Boston Acoustics radio with iPod plug-in, spacious work desk, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, air conditioning and shared patio.
HANDICAPPED ROOMS: There are seven handicapped rooms: five with grab bars and two with a roll-in shower accessible for wheelchairs. Requests for handicapped rooms are subject to availability.
WHEELCHAIRS: To rent a wheelchair for your stay at the Lodge, please call Jack’s Drugstore at 415-454-1451. They provide both wheelchair rentals and delivery to the Lodge.
ALL GUEST ROOMS NON-SMOKING: Smoking is not allowed on hotel grounds except for one smoking area near the parking lot.
MEAL HOURS: Breakfast: 7:30am, Lunch: noon, Dinner: 5:30pm. BACL meals are not available outside of these times. If you arrive late on opening night, please plan your dinner for that night accordingly. Complimentary wine is served nightly.
SPECIAL DIETS CANNOT BE ACCOMMODATED, such as kosher, low salt, low fat, wheat-dairy-egg-nut-free, diabetic, allergies, etc. To keep the price of the program as low as possible, the hotel gives us a set menu and does not allow for substitutions.
EXTRA NIGHTS: The Lodge at Tiburon offers a rate of $109 per night plus tax for Road Scholar participants, subject to availability. This rate is good for the three days prior and for the three days after a Road Scholar program. Please call BACL at 650-557-9000 to make a reservation.
MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE: Physicians are located in Mill Valley and Corte Madera to meet routine health needs. Marin General Hospital is the closest hospital and is located in Greenbrae, CA. The closest Kaiser Hospital is located in San Rafael, CA. Dentists are located nearby. A pharmacy is located within two blocks of the lodge.
WEATHER: Generally, Tiburon has sunny, moderate weather. The annual average temperature is 60 degrees with colder winter days ranging in the 40's. Plan to dress in layers. Please bring a jacket, scarf or hat and an umbrella (rainy season is November through April).
EXERCISE: Bring good walking shoes to explore the walking trails along the edge of the Bay, offering sweeping, spectacular views of Angel Island, San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge and Mt. Tamalpais. The Lodge’s heated outdoor pool is open year round.

LATE ARRIVALS
If you arrive after 4:30pm on opening day, please go to the front desk and check in. There is a clerk on duty 24 hours a day. We will leave your orientation materials with the clerk. If you know ahead of time that you will be late, call BACL so we can let the hotel know to hold your room.
COMMUTERS: If you are attending the program as a commuter, please note on your health form.

NAME TAGS: Your name tag will have the first name you want to go by, your last name and your state. Road Scholar does not permit cities to be listed.
