Main Street has been preserved as it was when the town was a Gold Rush train town and lumber yard.
Ark Row shops are actually housed in turn of the century boat houses that were converted into homes and shops when the lagoon between the Tiburon peninsula and the neighboring island of Belvedere was filled in.
Waterfront Park is a quarter-mile of waterfront grass and walking/bike paths with amazing views of San Francisco, Angel Island and boats on the bay.
Landmarks Art & Garden Center 841 Tiburon Boulevard. Circa 1870, the cottage is the oldest structure on the Tiburon Peninsula. The Center is open April-October on Sunday 1-4pm.
Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum 1920 Paradise Drive, Tiburon. For nearly a century, Tiburon was a major railroad and ferry terminus and maintenance yard. Open weekends April-October 1-4pm (pictured on right)
Old St. Hilary's Church. Built in 1888, the church sits on a hill above downtown Tiburon. Trails lead up to an amazing 360 view of the Bay Area and San Francisco. Open 1-4pm Sunday, Wednesday, April-October.
Blackie's Pasture features a bronze statue of Blackie, a famed Tiburon horse. By Car: Drive west on Tiburon Blvd. and turn left into Blackie's Pasture about two miles from the hotel. By bus: Take the #15 southbound.
China Cabin, 52 Beach Road, Belvedere, is the saloon from the S.S.China, a side-wheeled steamer. Beautifully restored, it is open weekends April-October 1-4pm; about a five minute walk along the water past Ark Row.

Situated on the peninsula between Richardson Bay and Tiburon, Belvedere consists of two "islands" and the Belvedere Lagoon between them. The larger island is Belvedere and the smaller one is Corinthian Island.
Mill Valley is a charming community, nestled at the foot of Mt. Tamalpais. The town center has many charming shops and restaurants. By car: Take Tiburon Blvd. west, cross over Highway 101 and continue driving into Mill Valley. By bus: Golden Gate Transit, #15 southbound (app. 30 minutes). 415-388-2070
Muir Woods is acclaimed for its beautiful redwood trees and charming streams. Take Tiburon Blvd. west to Highway 101 and go south on the highway. Take the Stinson Beach Highway 1 exit, turn right onto Panoramic Highway, then left onto Muir Woods Road which takes you to Muir Woods. No bus service. Mount Tamalpais, rising to 3000 feet, is world-renowned for its scenic vistas of the Bay Area and the Pacific Ocean. By car: Take Tiburon Blvd. west to Highway 101 then go south on the highway. Take the Stinson Beach Highway 1 exit. Turn right onto Panoramic Highway which takes you to the top of the mountain. You can get to Mt. Tam by public transportation.
